Paduch Quilt Show Heaven

I spent last week(Monday-Saturday) with my Mom and sister Laura, plus our limo driver aka Jerry...........Laura's hubby. This is the second time we have been able to come. It's a trip all quilters need to make. It is heaven for quilters. You need a budget when you come, because You want everything. You see demo's on all kinds of products, sewing machines, longarms etc............Plus every pattern you could ever want. Fabric of every kind. Hancock's of Paducah is a must stop. And let us not forget quilts like you have never seen. The talent is amazing. Lots of famous quilters are there in the different booths. Quilt In a Day store is a must stop and Eleanor Burns also has the fair grounds set up with tents full of $4.00 fabric, plus all of her products. She has quilts hung in the big barn and does a skit promoting her new books. This from last year,Mom and Laura, to my disappointment this was not here. The whole trip I said "I wanted to be the skinny quilter"Lol
Even the cows get dressed for the quilt show. The town is a nice place to visit with all the shops.

This is Patti's.............pie heaven. It's a stop that all quilters need to make.Patti's Settlement has shops, gorgeous gardens, antiques and dining. We went last year.so it was a must gotta go again.

Pilot Mountain

I think this is a beautiful place. It is a great place to spend the day. My girls loved coming here when they were little. It was their idea to spend the day here as a girl's day.
Joni and Tanya Joni and me acting silly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a pose.

Tanya making sure we don't take the wrong path!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had so much fun. It's always good to spend time with my girls. They are two of the most important things in my life. They seem to always bring out the best in me.

Can You Say Stressed!!!!!!!!!!

It's been a whole week since I last posted. I've been sick with my allergies, doctor has changed my meds twice. I'm feeling better not completely well, but thankful for better. I'm also going to school, getting ready for college this fall, and getting ready for Paducah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As many of you know I'm teaching a few quilt classes, so I have Pickety Sticks and Eclipse ready for the quilter. I started Pickety Sticks last week and Eclipse on this past Saturday. For the past two days I've been getting the backing and batting ready for the quilter. I have to say I do like the pieced backing I did for both. It was a great way to use up stash fabrics, because I seldom buy more than a yard unless I want it for a border. It sure beats going out and buying large amounts of fabric. I even pieced some batting for the Eclipse quilt. I better get off here, school is bright an early. Not used to getting up early, it's amazing how quick you can get out of the habit.

Started School Today!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you remember what you liked about the first day of school? The new book bag, notebooks, pens, and pencils.................. I went today and did my placement test. I did well on everything, but math. I knew I would need help in that area. I will go 3 days a week till my math is up to college level. I go on Wednesday to see about setting up fall classes. Wish me luck.
I finished my bom 1 day early. I must say I like this bom better than last year's bom. I finished this in less than 2 hours. It would take me 5 or 6 on last year's, plus it wasn't never the right size. That may be why I still need to do 4 of the blocks.

Back from Charleston

People, Places and Quilts is one of my favorite shops. The people are so friendly. I always go to both of their shops. Sometimes more than once while in town. This is a picture of the one in Charleston. I also go to the one in Summerville.

This is the nice girl in the Charleston store.
Here's the owner Diane, she is always smiling. They have lots of goodies. So plan to spend some time in both of these shops. Love all the fabric, they have Amy Butler to a large selection of civil war. I get lots of goodies from fabric to gadgets. This time I got the 2 1/2" / charm ruler, 2 Charm packs, 3 patterns, and a book by Denyse Schmidt.

This is out in front of a house in Summerville. You think you have went back in time. I could live here.
Can you say WELCOME HOME...... I took this while strolling down the street.

Silly Woman

Wow nice work Silly Woman! I love you. I have to say these are all nice but the orange one is my favorite! :)

This is why I'm Silly Woman. This is an example of what my girls say to me. That's how my name came about. People are amazed by the name of my blog because normally I'm reserved. It's a little out of character but you do remember it.
