School in Your Forties

I'm still adjusting to my new life as a student. I'm posting because my Mom said " I look an you have not posted since August 18" So here I am letting those, who stop by know what's up. The first week was horrible to say the least. The second went much better. The third week I had a meltdown. I'm not much of a writer, my English class has a paper due every week.(stress!!!) The teacher informed us a last week "Write a paper and plan on a 7-10 minute presentation in front of class. This is 10% of your grade. 1 minute to long or short and it counts off" Can you feel my pain. I'll be doing mine Thursday will not know on what till Tuesday what it is about. I have come to grip with this!
I do need advice......in high school I was a good student with little effort. That is not the case at 42...suggestions on studying habits. I need to learn 300 drugs names, generics, class, and uses. Plus a million other terms. This is just one class,I have 6. I'm struggling with this, but not giving up.

Hang on in there, you can do it.

It is a shock to the system when you go back to school but you will get back into the swing of it.

Don't forget that you need relax time aswell.
I'll be thinkingof you on Thursday. Good Luck

I went back to school at 53 so I feel your pain. I'll send you an email with some ideas that helped me. Hang in there!

I think that it does get easier. This is just a big shock to your system right now.

For me, when I had to learn medical terms, I would make up flash cards and then use them to start memorizing. Making them yourself helps you start learning the terms and the rest and then quizzing yourself will help your learn them. I would use the flash cards any chance I got - although I always heard that anything you did right before bed, you retained it more.
