Good Ol' Summertime Mini Quilt Swap

This is the mini quilt from Good Ol' Summertime Mini Quilt Swap that I made for Sara from mysewingroomsara. Sara said she loved brights so I sure hope she likes this mini quilt. I did like making it. This is the first swap that I have participated in. I do believe I will do another swap. This is the mini quilt that I received from Bonita in Kentucky. I absolutely love this quilt. I had said "I love black and white and have been loving yellow lately." She made the perfect quilt from that.

Joni's Birthday at PF Chang's

We had a nice time.Gary was the only one who had ever been to PF Chang's before....it was so very good. We were so full that the Fancy Pastry cake is going to be ate tomorrow at family nite.

I have been quilting ....hope to get pic posted this week. I had lost my mojo....I have found it .

Projects from Last Week

I put this name on a throw for one of my friend's sister. She has been in the hospital. It is orange because she has Leukemia. This is my Off Your Rocker quilt. This is a fun and quick quilt.

This is a customer's quilt ....Betty Davis. I just love her and her name. Yes she does have Betty Davis eyes. This one matches my sewing room.

I have not worked all week and have been lazy. Hopefully I will get busy tomorrow. Tonight I have a date with my sweetie.

A Trip Home to Mississippi

This is a neat place we like to eat at when we go to Kellie's Pins and Needles.

This is another display at The Movie Star....a local restaurant in Purvis, Ms.The food is good and I love looking at the antiques. They had a white featherweight...it was only easy to leave it because it had no case.

We attended a get together at my Dad's...to meet his new wife and her family. We had a good time. It was hot as hell. I got to see all of my sisters and brothers. Plus my dad's brothers, their wives and His Mother....my Nannie. It was so worth the heat to see my family.

Scrap Quilts by Edith

This is a scrap quilt that I quilted for one of my customers. It is 82"x82".....this one had a small amount of unsewing. It took me 10 minutes to sew and 6 hours to unsew.

This is the second scrap quilt by the same customer. I loved the border with one narrow green, wider blue and a third wider blue border. I delivered them today and she loved them....that makes me feel good about quilting.

Here is Lizzy Lou

This is my new quilter a TinLizzy18. I have named her Lizzy Lou. This is the first thing I quilted.

This is Wonky Charm Stars....It is based on a quilt block pattern I found on the Internet. This is the first quilt that I had to come up with how to place the blocks and the borders. It is so much easier when you have a pattern with all the directions. I do love how it turned out.

Trip to Las Vegas

We had a wonderful time in Vegas...It is the town that never sleeps. We were up 22 hours the first day we got there. No sleep for us ....we wanted to do everything. This is Moma in front of one quilt store. Yes Vegas has quilt shops. Four are in the valley and this on is in Boulder City(I think that is the name of town) We took a 5 Shop Hop.The quilt shops were so nice.

You know I had to get a pic of this...the food was very good. Plus the were open after 10 pm.

This is Old Vegas ....one of my favorite places we went. At nite there is a light show in the overhead canopy. This is must stop on a trip to Vegas.

This is the Luxor.....It was nice.....not that we spent any time there.

Gary and I at Margaritaville.....I love this place...I like to go to the one in Myrtle Beach SC. Hope to post more pic from the trip, but I need to go pick Zack up at the train station.

I am still Alive

I have been so busy lately. Since my last blog .....I went home to see my family, moved Tanya home,took a trip to Pigeon Forge to see my sister Jennifer,spend 4 days a week at Baptist Hospital for clinicals, taught 2 quilting classes and quilted 2 quilts for others...BUSY..BUSY...Time seems to be flying by for me as this school year comes to a close. I have to say, I am a little sad. I have made so many friends.I do look forward to my Graduation as my Mom, Sidney, Kenneth,Trish and Aaron are coming.I do love my family.I have so much to do in the next 3 weeks. Two finals,National certification test, and two more weeks of clinicals. Then a week break from school. That week will be spent with my Mom, and two of my sisters quilting at my house.
